Abstract

A low-loss 4-port interleaver was demonstrated. The device becomes a 4-port fully-circulating wavelength-interleaving bi-directional circulator with the addition of a non-reciprocal element. This new device technology opens up a range of possibilities for bi-directional fiber devices.
