Testing passive DWDM components: uncertainties in swept-wavelength measurement systems

Abstract

We discuss intrinsic compromises between measurement speed and accuracy of swept wavelength measurement systems. Side-effects reducing measurement accuracy are demonstrated and explained. Setup precautions and post-processing improvements are suggested.
