Abstract

PbTe doped glass fibers for nonlinear optical application were developed using modified solution doping method in MCVD Process. Absorption peak near 1050nm was observed and it was attributed to the optical resonance due to PbTe quantum dots precipitated in the core of the fiber. Effect of heat treatment on absorption peak position and absorption intensity was also investigated.
