Dynamic gain flattening of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier using a high- birefringence fiber loop mirror

Abstract

A flexible method based on a high-birefringence fiber loop mirror is proposed for the gain flattening of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier. The gain profile was flattened to within ±0.9 dB over a 33 nm bandwidth.
