High power gain-clamped EDFAs with flat gain

Abstract

A two-stage all optical gain-clamped EDFA is designed for high output power to handle 64 channel WDM network systems. The EDFA has gain-clamped output powers up to 22 dBm with a flat gain bandwidth over 30 nm.
