Abstract

The all-optical wavelength conversion will be one of the key technologies in future wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM) networks since it allows reuse of wavelength, thus avoiding wavelength channel contentions. It also gives the capability of reconfiguration and decentralized management of wavelengths.
