Abstract

A photonic crystal fiber (PCF) consists of regularly spaced air holes running along the fiber cladding. The core of the PCF is formed by introducing a defect or missing hole at the center of the fiber. The characteristics of the PCF have been widely investigated after its first report by J.C. Knight et. al. in 1996.1
