In-service dispersion monitor in 32×10.7Gbps WDM transmission system over trans-Atlantic distance by optical frequency-modulation method

Abstract

An in-service dispersion monitor using the optical frequency-modulation method is demonstrated in a 32x10.7Gbit/s WDM transmission system. Accurate dispersion monitoring at a transmission distance of 5950km is achieved without any bit-error rate penalty.
