Birefringence in Benzocyclobutene Strip Optical Waveguides

Abstract

We report the fabrication of benzocyclobutene strip optical waveguides and the measurement of their birefringence properties. The experimental results are shown to agree with the theoretical calculation. The condition for obtaining zero birefringence is highlighted.
