High Gain Planar Optical Amplifiers/Arrays

Abstract

Erbium Doped Waveguide Amplifiers (EDWAs) became attractive choices in variety of network’s applications. Developments in single amplifiers lead to integrated EDWA arrays that offer significantly lower cost per amplifier. Recent progress in this exciting field will be reviewed.
