Leakage Loss of Air-guiding Honeycomb Photonic Bandgap Fiber

Abstract

We report a new class of air-guiding photonic bandgap fiber using honeycomb air-silica cladding design. Full-vector numerical simulation shows the leakage loss can be as small as 0.06dB/m using eight cladding rings.
