We demonstrate all-optical seed-pulse extractor for DPSK and OOK packet synchronization and all-optical header extractor at 10 Gbit/s exploiting a novel approach based on self-induced effect in passive, low-power, polarization-independent, compact vertical cavity semiconductor switch.
