Abstract

MAP symbol-decoding supplemented with iterative decoding is used to mitigate the intrachannel-nonlinearities. MAP detector operates on channel trellis to correct the corrupted data and to provide soft outputs processed further in an iterative decoder. A dramatic performance improvement is demonstrated.
