Spectral phase encoders for optical CDMA using anti-symmetric gratings

Abstract

Spectral phase coding provides higher spectral efficiency and security than spectral amplitude coding. To simplify its implementation we propose novel and compact bipolar optical encoders based on the recently demonstrated anti-symmetric grating.
