Abstract

System effects of three micro-ring modulators are investigated. Dual-waveguide-structure, modulating a RZ signal, is the optimal modulator with 10-dB higher Q-factor. By detuning the modulator and reducing chirp, Q-factor is further increased by 3-dB.
