Pure QAM Signal Generation with Photonic Vector Modulator

Abstract

Novel photonic vector modulator architecture for generating pure-QAM signals is presented. No electrical devices apart from the local oscillator are needed in the generation process. Pure 1 Gbit/s 4QAM 41 GHz carrier is experimentally demonstrated.
