20-km Transmission of 40-Gb/s Signal using Frequency Modulated DBR Laser

Abstract

Using a frequency modulated DBR-LD and an optical filter, error-free transmission of a 40-Gb/s signal over a 0- to 20-km span (non-dispersion-shifted fiber) has been demonstrated for the first time.
