Abstract

We demonstrate the ever-first self-homodyne coherent detection of 10 Gbit/s PSK signals using Brillouin amplification of the optical carrier. Performance close to the ideal homodyne receiver is obtained by using DC-balancing and post-detection high-pass filtering.
