Abstract

We experimentally characterize a 100-GHz polymer Mach-Zehnder modulator including its frequency chirp response and broadband data modulation. BER performance is achieved at 80 Gbit/s for DPSK and >90 Gbit/s for OOK. Tunable chirp operation is demonstrated while eye diagrams at 100 Gbit/s and 110-GHz S21 measurements further demonstrate the > 100-GHz response.
