Influence of Broadcast Traffic on Energy Efficiency of Long-Reach SARDANA Access Network

Abstract

We describe reach extension in SARDANA TDM/WDM PON and show that energy efficiency of SARDANA increases when increasing the amount of broadcast traffic. 10G point-to-point optical access networks provide low efficiency for limited uplink capacity.
