Demonstrating Novel Functionality of Air-holes to Realize Large-mode-area Optical Fibers

Abstract

A new functionality of air-holes, worked as prevention for micro-deformation induced loss without affecting other properties, is demonstrated. A fiber with Aeff of 150 μm2 was fabricated by utilizing the new functionality.
