Electro-optically tunable switches with 100GHz flat-top passband and 45dB extinction ratio using silicon high-order coupled-microring resonators for optical interconnects

Abstract

We demonstrate electro-optically tunable switches using coupled-microrings on silicon-on-insulator, which show flat-top passbands with~100GHz bandwidth and~45dB extinction ratio. We show simultaneous switching of 20Gbit/s signal transmissions in 10 channels with 1.9/1.4ns switching times.
