Low power CMOS-driven 1060 nm multimode optical link

Abstract

A high speed, low power 1060nm optical link with 90-nm CMOS chips is demonstrated using a VCSEL bias as low as 2 mA. A 4.9 pJ/bit efficiency is obtained at 20 Gbps.
