Abstract

Novel in-line fiber-optic phase modulators were demonstrated in an open-loop FOG. Phase modulation to 3.8 radians was measured using modulators fabricated by replacing half of the silica cladding of polarization-maintaining fiber with Kerr-like electro-optic silicones.
