Abstract

A Spun Highly Birefringent (Shi-Bi) Photonic Crystal Fibre (PCF) has been fabricated, which offers intrinsic sensitivity to magnetic fields through the Faraday Effect without the high inherent temperature sensitivities suffered by conventional stress birefringence fibres.
