A mathematical model for machining spot in Fluid Jet Polishing

Abstract

Material removal spots created with the Fluid Jet Polishing technique will be shown. A possible explanation of the spot shape based on a Gaussian pressure profile, combined with a material removal rate that is related to the derivative of this pressure profile will be derived and discussed.
