Abstract

A 1:N protected WDM system draws growing attention since it can reduce the cost of the system drastically. To implement it, a unique wavelength is assigned as a protection channel and it should be able to be dropped at any ADM node in case of the original channel failure. In this paper, a novel structure of an ADM, which is suitable for 1:N protected WDM system, is proposed. And the performance of the proposed scheme is presented.
