Abstract

The retrieval of cloud and aerosol properties from a spaceborne A Band Spectrometer is studied in the context of an actual instrument with realistic performance, namely the ABS instrument which was designed to fly on the Picasso-Cena mission. A forward model and a retrieval algorithm were constructed to ascertain the potentials of the technique and identify and quantify the sources of error.
