Abstract

Currently commercially available dental headlights have two major problems: low illumination uniformity and stray light. To address those issues, we have applied different freeform lens structures combined with optimization method to achieve high uniformity and reduce the stray light. Besides the issues of uniformity and stray light, our design also achieves high light efficiency by reducing the Fresnel loss with TIR surface.
