Abstract

We fabricated a compact Bessel beam generator in all-fiber structure, and successfully demonstrated the optical trapping of multiple beads along the longitudinal direction. The device consists of serial concatenation of single mode fiber, hollow optical fiber, coreless silica fiber and polymer lens. Fiber laser at 1060nm was used for investigation of beam propagation on X-Z plane to confirm a beam profile similar to Bessel beam with the non-diffracting region extending over ~1000um. Fiber optic device configurations were simulated for characterization of optimal parameters. Using this device, longitudinal multiple trapping was successfully demonstrated for various Z-axis positions.
