Evaluation of a Quantum Cascade Laser as Local Oscillator for Heterodyne Detection of THz Radiation

Abstract

The optical properties of a 2.8 THz QCL are reported and evaluated to investigate the applicability of such a source as local oscillator for THz heterodyne detection. Preliminary results pumping a Hot Electron Bolometer are presented.
