Abstract

We have studied theoretically the two-step, two-color holographic recording in electron transfer via the conduction band between the deep-trap levels Fe2+/Fe3+ shallow–trap levels NbLi4+/NbLi5+. The results show the necessity to consider direct electron exchanges between Fe2+/Fe3+ and NbLi4+/NbLi5+ as the dominant electron exchange process involved in the nonvolatile two-step, two-color holographic recording in LiNbO3:Fe.
