Abstract

A new optical device for IQ-splitting of micro-/millimeter-wave signals is proposed. Utilizing an electro-optic Mach-Zehnder modulator with periodically polarization-reversed structures and a waveguide X-junction, IQ-splitting operation is obtainable. The experimental demonstrations around 26GHz are reported.
