Tackling self-absorption in luminescent solar concentrators with type-II colloidal quantum dots

Abstract

The efficiency of Luminescent solar concentrators is still rather low, due to several loss-mechanisms, which are maximised by self-absorption. We demonstrate that use of type-II semiconductor hetero-nanocrystals may offer a solution to the self-absorption problem.
