Fast Light Using Multiple Cascaded Quantum-Well Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers

Abstract

We demonstrate variable fast light at room temperature using multiple cascaded quantum-well semiconductor optical amplifiers. Controllable delay is achieved both electrically and optically, or by varying the number of amplifiers or amplifier-to-amplifier attenuation.
