Adjustable EDFA Gain Equalization Filter Based on a Single LPG Excited by Flexural Acoustic Waves for Future DWDM Networks

Abstract

A fast adjustable EDFA gain equalization filter for DWDM system is reported. Using an LPG which is excited by means of flexural waves, the equalization with a gain flatness <0.3dB is demonstrated, inducing a power penalty <0.84dB.
