Abstract

Existence of gap solitons in metamaterials, exhibiting a self-focusing Kerr nonlinearity, is theoretically predicted. A nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation with a dispersive nonlinear term is derived from Maxwell’s equations to study gap soliton stability.
