Abstract

The N-photon absorption coefficient of a direct-semiconductor is calculated under the influence of a DC-field. For N>2 the system presents the same structure as the Linear Franz-Keldysh effect, oscillations for hω>Eg/2, and tunneling for hω<Eg/2.
