Multiple-Wavelength Transmission using FP-LD for Increasing Upstream Capacity in Asymmetric TDM-PON

Abstract

We propose a new technique for multi-wavelength upstream transmission in time division multiplexed-passive optical networks using FP-LDs at optical network units. The scheme increases upstream capacity without the use of costly higher speed burst-mode transceivers.
