Improvement of the efficiency of laser cooling using type II multiple QW’s

Abstract

Type II multiple quantum wells exhibit strong anti-Stokes shift of the fluorescence. This phenomenon can used to achieve laser cooling with efficiency increased by a factor of few compared to bulk.
