The Z-Petawatt Laser at Sandia National Laboratories

Abstract

Performance characteristics and first experiments on Sandia’s Z-Petawatt (ZPW) laser will be presented. This system will provide enhanced backlighting capabilities on the Z-Accelerator by achieving multi 10 keV x-rays in less than a picosecond.
