Parametric amplification in electromagnetically induced transparency

Abstract

In an ordinary electromagnetically-induced-transparency setup in sodium vapor, we have observed a probe gain up to 15, attributable to the parametric amplification, accompanying the Stokes (or anti-Stokes) wave with similar output intensity.
