From fast optical bistability to thermo-optical excitability in a two dimensional Photonic Crystal

Abstract

We show excitable optical pulses in an InP-based Photonic Crystal slab close to bistable operation. Possible applications of excitability such as the realisation of all-optical delay lines in coupled micro cavities will be discussed.
