Plasmonic modes of strongly-coupled single-crystalline gold nanoparticle dimers

Abstract

The plasmonic modes of single-crystalline gold nanoparticle dimers with ultrasmall gaps are investigated. The large mode splitting separates bonding and antibonding modes which can be addressed individually. Q-factors are investigated and compared to FDTD simulations.
