Influence of Pulse Width in Ultrafast Laser Fabrication of Embedded Waveguides in Chalcognide Glasses

Abstract

We report embedded waveguide fabrication in Gallium Lanthanum Sulphide glasses using an ultrafast laser. The influence of pulse-width on the waveguide formation was studied and compared using 240-fs and 2-ps pulses, respectively.
