Photosensitivity at 1550 nm and Bragg grating inscription in As2Se3 microwires for sensing applications

Abstract

We demonstrate the writing of Bragg gratings in As2Se3 microwires. Bragg gratings are written from a 1550 nm laser source; we demonstrate strain sensing with an improved sensitivity of 1.3 pm/με compared to silica-based sensors.
