Generalized Image Sharpness Metrics for Correcting Phase Errors

Abstract

Generalized sharpness-maximization phase-error-correction algorithms are made computationally efficient by using closed-form gradients. The second derivative of the metric’s point nonlinearity can be chosen to tune the algorithm to the statistics of the scene.
