All-Solid Photonic Bandgap Fibers for Pressure Sensing

Abstract

A standard and a modified all-solid photonic bandgap fiber are numerically modeled and their pressure sensitivity evaluated aiming at distributed sensing. The modified fiber shows improved sensitivity both in its birefringence and confinement loss.
