Electron acceleration through spatiotemporal pulse shaping of ultrashort laser pulses

Abstract

A novel approach to electron acceleration using spatiotemporal pulse shaping is described. Simulations using parameters of commonly available Ti:Sapphire systems (I~1011W/cm2) yield single electron energies on the order of a few MeV.
