Generation of Terawatt Sub-10 fs Laser Pulses using Optical Parametric Chirped Pulse Amplification

Abstract

Based on noncollinear optical parametric chirped pulse amplification, generation of near- Fourier-limited 9.8 ± 0.3 fs laser pulses at 30 Hz repetition rate is demonstrated with an intensity exceeding a terawatt and an integrated fluorescence energy below 1%.
